By creating an account or using Magic Sous, you confirm that:

Magic Sous is an AI-powered recipe generation platform that creates personalized recipes based on your preferences, dietary restrictions, and available kitchen equipment. We offer:

  • Free Tier: Generate up to 1 recipe per day at no cost
  • Pro Tier (Coming Soon): Unlimited recipe generation and additional features for a monthly subscription fee (estimated $12-20/month)

3. Account Registration and Security

Account Creation

  • You must register using Google social login through our authentication provider (Clerk)
  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account

Your Responsibilities

  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • You are responsible for all activities under your account
  • You may not share your account with others

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at [email protected].

4. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Recipes generated by Magic Sous are created by artificial intelligence and are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.

  • Not Professional Advice: Our AI-generated recipes are not a substitute for professional nutritional, medical, or dietary advice
  • No Guarantees: We do not guarantee the accuracy, safety, or suitability of any recipe for your specific needs
  • Dietary Restrictions: While we consider your stated dietary restrictions, you must verify all ingredients and recipes for allergens and safety
  • Medical Conditions: Consult qualified healthcare professionals before making dietary changes, especially if you have medical conditions or allergies
  • Food Safety: Follow proper food safety practices when preparing any recipe

You use AI-generated recipes entirely at your own risk.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Magic Sous only for lawful purposes. You will NOT:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Transmit harmful code, viruses, or malware
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use automated tools to access the Service without permission
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Upload false or misleading information
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our consent
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or extract proprietary algorithms

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. Intellectual Property

Your Content

  • You retain ownership of data you provide (preferences, dietary restrictions, equipment lists)
  • You grant us a limited license to use this data to provide and improve the Service
  • Recipe feedback and ratings you submit may be used to improve our AI models

Our Content

  • Magic Sous owns all rights to the platform, software, branding, and design
  • AI-generated recipes are provided to you for personal, non-commercial use
  • You may not redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit AI-generated recipes without permission
  • Our trademarks, logos, and brand elements may not be used without written consent

7. Payment and Subscriptions (Pro Tier)

When the Pro Tier launches:

  • Subscriptions will be billed monthly through Stripe
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
  • No refunds for partial months
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers
  • Failed payments may result in downgrade to Free Tier

8. User-Generated Content

When you provide feedback, ratings, or other content:

  • You represent that you have the right to submit this content
  • You grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use feedback to improve the Service
  • We may remove content that violates these Terms
  • We are not responsible for user-generated content

9. Third-Party Services

Magic Sous integrates with third-party services including:

  • Clerk (authentication)
  • Google (social login)
  • OpenAI and Google Gemini (AI recipe generation)
  • Vercel (hosting)
  • Stripe (payment processing, coming soon)

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND
  • WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • We are not liable for data loss (maintain your own backups of important information)

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Magic Sous, its owners, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of others
  • Any recipes you prepare or share

13. Termination

By You

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent activity
  • Pose a security risk
  • Are abusive to our team or other users

We will provide notice when reasonably possible, but may terminate immediately for serious violations.

Effect of Termination

  • Your access to the Service will cease
